FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need coaching, or is the class enough?

Understanding the strategy is usually not the hard part. Most people grasp the ideas fairly quickly. The real challenge is installing the system in real life and staying consistent as life changes. Unexpected expenses, busy schedules, or simple uncertainty can cause people to delay implementing the plan — and that often means losing valuable time.

People generally don’t struggle because they don’t understand the strategy; they lose momentum when life gets busy. Coaching exists to help with that. We walk with you while the strategy is installed, help you model decisions as they come up, and provide accountability so the plan actually gets implemented. For many families, that support makes the difference between understanding the strategy and successfully applying it.

Do you offer refunds?

The $297 cost of the Strategy Class is non-refundable because the class and tools are available immediately after purchase. Our coaching programs include a 14-day clarity window. If you decide within the first 14 days before your initial meeting that coaching isn’t the right fit, we will refund your coaching payment in full.

What if the strategy doesn't work for my situation?

Every financial situation is different.

The purpose of the class is to help you understand how mortgage interest works and how balance timing can affect the speed of payoff. It also gives you access to tools that allow you to model your own numbers and explore what may be possible for your situation.

Many people discover options they hadn’t previously considered. Others simply gain clarity about the best path forward. The goal is not to force a specific strategy, but to help you understand your options clearly and make decisions with confidence. Even if someone decides not to apply the strategy, they’ll leave with a much clearer understanding of how their mortgage actually works.

Do I need a HELOC to use this strategy?

A HELOC (home equity line of credit) is one of the tools some families choose to incorporate, but it is not required. The Exodus Strategy is primarily about understanding how mortgage interest works and how balance timing can affect the speed of payoff. Once you understand those mechanics, there are several ways the strategy can be applied depending on your comfort level and financial situation.

The class explains the concepts so you can explore your options and decide what approach makes the most sense for you.

What does the class NOT include?

The class teaches the strategy, explains how mortgage interest works, and gives you access to the core tools used to model payoff scenarios.

What it does not include is personal coaching or plan installation. Some families prefer to learn the concepts and apply them independently. Others prefer guidance while installing the strategy so they can ask questions, model decisions together, and stay accountable as life changes.

That’s the role of coaching — helping you apply the strategy safely and consistently in real life.

Are Fire My Mortgage coaches licensed financial professionals?

Fire My Mortgage® coaches are trained in the Exodus Strategy and the tools used to model payoff scenarios, but they are not acting as financial advisors, lenders, or tax professionals. Our role is to help you understand how mortgage interest works, explore different payoff scenarios, and guide you as you apply the strategy.

When decisions involve lending products, tax implications, or legal matters, we encourage clients to consult with the appropriate licensed professionals.

How do I know which plan is best for me?

That depends on how you prefer to learn and implement. Some people enjoy learning the strategy and applying it independently. The DIY class is designed for that. Others prefer guidance while installing the system so they can ask questions, model decisions together, and stay accountable as life changes. For them, coaching provides structure and support while the strategy is implemented.

If you're unsure, many people start with the class and decide afterward whether coaching would be helpful.

Our goal is not to pressure decisions — it's to help you understand your options clearly,

so you can move forward with confidence.

Fire My Mortgage helps families create clarity and control using math-based strategies and guided support.
